Butterfly willow is a cleft with a naturally occurring stain in it and is regarded as the lowest grade of English Willow. This stain can be in the form of just a small red mark or 'wing' (similar to that of a Butterfly) or can have a dominant red colour throughout the blade. The grain structure in this willow is generally excellent due to the number of grains present, the redwood or heartwood adds strength and a stiffness to the blade resulting in increased power. We are huge advocates of Butterfly cricket bats as they offer incredible performance and are such good value for money!
